Emerald Ash Borer (EAB)
Kennedy’s Arboriculture has been involved with Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus planipennis) since the early stages of the Ohio infestation. Initially, in 2006 and early 2007, we directly participated in the Agrilus planipennis Detection Program working for The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) APHIS (Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service) along with The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA).
In this capacity, detection trees, those purposely wounded to attract Agrilus planipennis in the spring, were felled in the fall/winter and the bark was removed to determine the larval Agrilus planipennis populations in each tree. This program occurred at various locations throughout the State of Ohio.
Since 2007 we have successfully treated and saved hundreds of ash trees across central Ohio. We are one of the only companies offering multiple treatment options, emphasizing those that do not require wounding (drilling/injections).
